Marcus Tappan
Weightlifting & Performance Coach
Coach Tappan is a Pasadena native and 2013 graduate of La Salle High School, where he excelled as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track & field. Following high school, he continued his football career as a linebacker at Glendale Community College, where he developed into the nation’s No. 2 ranked junior college linebacker according to 247Sports.
Coach Tappan went on to earn a full athletic scholarship to the University of Cincinnati before finishing his collegiate playing career at Montana State University and Briar Cliff University.
Following his playing career, Coach Tappan transitioned directly into sports performance training and has spent the past six years working with athletes across multiple sports, including football, volleyball, and MMA. He currently serves as the Strength and Linebackers Coach at Glendale Community College.
Coach Tappan is passionate about helping athletes maximize their potential by developing both their physical performance and mental toughness. He emphasizes discipline, consistency, and falling in love with the process of improvement while equipping athletes with the tools and work ethic needed to compete at the next level. His greatest motivation as a coach is seeing the steady growth and development of the athletes he mentors.
