Kevin Wentz

Founder & Director of CatzRUN+

Kevin Wentz has been practicing physical therapy for over 35 years in Pasadena, California. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1987 and entered private practice in 1994. In 2005, Kevin co-founded the Competitive Athlete Training Zone (CATZ).

CATZ specializes in outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy, as well as sports performance training for athletes of all ages and levels. From 1996 to 2002—and again from 2021 to 2022—Kevin worked with the LA Galaxy and has also trained numerous professional athletes and Olympians including Oscar De La Hoya, David Beckham, Adrian Beltre, and members of the 2008 U.S. Men’s Olympic Volleyball Team.

More recently, Kevin has expanded into the field of sports science, incorporating force plate technology and dynamometry to collect objective performance data. These insights allow him to design precise rehabilitation and training programs tailored to each athlete’s unique needs.

Driven by the success of these data-informed programs, Kevin earned a Level II certification in Run-Gait Analysis using 3D motion capture in 2023 and continues to refine his expertise in this cutting-edge technology. Recognizing the tremendous value of this approach in both rehabilitation and performance, Kevin launched CatzRUN+, a sports science lab experience designed to help all athletes—not just elite performers—elevate their game.

The CatzRUN+ methodology stays true to the CatzPT philosophy: the athlete’s experience is central to achieving the best outcomes. Training sessions are fun, engaging, and challenging, fostering both performance gains and lasting motivation.
